Loan
Application Checklist
When you apply for your mortgage loan, you may be
required to submit any or all of the following documents that
pertain to you and your loan. Contact your loan officer if you
have any questions or concerns.
- Completed, signed, and dated application
(including application fee)
- Names and addresses of each of your employers
for the past two years
- Photo ID and proof of your Social Security
number
- Addresses of your residence(s) for the past
three years (including name and address of your current landlord,
if applicable)
- Pay stubs for the last 30 days
- W-2s for the last two years
- List of assets, including estimated value
- Statements for each bank, mutual fund, and/or
investment account for the last two months
- Names, addresses, account numbers, balances,
and monthly payments for all current loans or debts
- Schedule of real estate owned, if applicable
If you own rental property:
- Tax returns for the last two years
- Current rental agreement(s)
- Explanation of credit report anomalies (including
late payments; credit inquiries in the last 90 days; collections,
judgments, and/or liens; or bankruptcy in last seven years)
If you are self-employed:
- Tax returns for the last two years
- Year-to-date profit and loss statement
and balance sheet
- If you are part of partnership or own a
business or corporation, tax returns for the past two years
If you are purchasing a house:
- Signed purchase agreement
- Copy of legal description and MLS sheet
- Verification of funds. If funds are a
gift
- a gift letter form completed by the giving
party
- copies of bank statements
- copy of check and/or deposit slip
- If you are selling your current home, a
copy of the listing contract
- If you have sold your current home, a copy
of the settlement statement
- If you are retired, a copy of your pension
award letter, indicating monthly income
- If you receive Social Security, a copy of
your Social Security award letter
- If you receive disability compensation,
a copy of your disability letter, indicating monthly income
and length of compensation
- If you are divorced, a copy of your divorce
decree and settlement agreement
If you receive child support or alimony:
- copy of your divorce settlement
- copies of twelve months of cancelled child
support checks or deposit slips
- If you are a veteran, a Certificate of
Eligibility and DD-214
- If you are not a citizen, a copy of the
front and back of your green card
If you are refinancing:
- copy of title insurance policy
- copy of homeowner’s insurance policy
indicating coverage
- copy of survey
- a letter of explanation of purpose, indicating
what the funds will be used for
- If you are obtaining a second mortgage,
a copy of the first note and mortgage
